The Vercors is a training ground for athletes
The resorts of the Vercors organise training all year round. Close to Grenoble, the Vercors’ resorts are an ideal place for athletes who need to get physical training. They can benefit from an exceptional and protected environment, as well as having many activities on offer and excellent facilities. And, on top of all this, athletes can enjoy some peace and relax.
The resorts are all located around an altitude of 1,000m, with a peak of up to 2,500m. The Vercors is like a huge sports stadium at altitude. Outdoor and indoor training, downtime, physio… Everything an athlete might need is available in the Vercors.

A really sporty destination
The Vercors hosted many competitions during the 1968 Winter Olympic Games in Grenoble (Nordic skiing, luge, ski jump…). That was a long time ago, but the Vercors has always kept a sporty identity. This is why many international competitions take place in the Vercors every year:
- La Foulée Blanche
- Le Raid Inook
- Vercors crossing (by ski, mountain bike or foot)
- Le Challenge Vercors
- The Ultra Trail du Vercors (the newest competition)
- The EuroNordicWalk (the world’s biggest gathering of Nordic walkers)
